Dr. Tesfaye Boru has 20+ years of comprehensive banking experience. Tesfaye brings to Global Bank Ethiopia a strategic and collaborative leadership approach through effective strategizing and process improvements.
His current position at Global Bank Ethiopia S.C. is Chief Executive Officer, with prior experience at Zemen, Abyssinia, the National Bank of Ethiopia, and United Bank. He worked in different capacities, from Junior Loan Officer to his recent post as Chief Executive Officer.
He also has rich academic qualifications with significant specialization in business-related fields, including Economics (B.A.), Accounting (a Chartered Accountant-UK), Management (B.A.), Business Administration (MBA), and Business Leadership (Ph.D.). He is also an Alumni of the Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute after finalizing the African Political Economy: The African Economic Challenge course.

He has also made remarkable achievements in his academia earning his BA in Management and Masters in Business Leadership from renowned universities.

Mr. Sahlemichael Mekonnen has over 21 years of comprehensive banking experience. His current position at Global Bank Ethiopia (GBE) is Chief Corporate Banking Officer (CCBO), with prior experiences at GBE, the former Construction and Business Bank (CBB), Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE); Debub Global Bank (DGB) and Addis International Bank (AIB). Sahlemichael has served in diverse roles throughout his career, from Junior Officer of Credit to his most recent position as CCBO. At GBE, he worked as Chief Retail Banking Officer (CRBO); at AIB, he worked as Director of the Banking Operation and E-Banking Department; at DGB, he worked as Director of the Retail Banking Department; at CBE, he worked as Manager of the Corporate Compliance Management Division; at CBB, he worked in different capacities including Director of Credit Relationship Management Process, and Head Credit Analysis & Information Division. In addition, he was assigned to various managerial positions on an acting basis at different times during his stay at CBB. Sahlemichael also possesses a strong academic background. He has pursued academic qualifications in business-related fields, including a Bachelor of Art degree in Accounting and Finance, and a MSc degree in Accounting and Finance. He has also attended various trainings locally and abroad.

Mr. Tesfaye Salilew has over 23 years of experience in Information Technology (IT) Management; IT Support and Services; and IT Education. He has worked in various sectors such as banks, NGOs, and academic institutions. His current position at Global Bank Ethiopia (GBE) S.C. is Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO), with prior experiences at Zemen Bank (ZB), World Vision Ethiopia, AAU College of Commerce; Unity University; and Haramay University. Tesfaye has served in diverse roles throughout his career, starting from IT Instructor and progressing to his most recent position as CITO. At ZB, he worked in different capacities, including Head of ICT Infrastructure, Monitoring & Follow-up; Manager of IT Infrastructure and E-Channel Management; and Director of e-channel Management, accumulating a total of 12+ years of experience before joining GBE. Tesfaye also possesses a strong academic background. He has pursued academic qualifications in IT and business-related fields, including a degree in Library and Information Science (BLS), a Master's degree in Information Technology (MScIT), and a Master's degree in Business Administration-Marketing (MBA). He also holds certifications of achievement in Digital Money (CIDM) and IT Governance Foundation (COBIT-F).

He has Masters in Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts in Marketing (Degree) and Diploma in Marketing Management. He has a prior experience in Banking Industry at Zemen Bank, before joining Debub Global Bank on May 2018.

In March 2019, Mr. Sisay Ayele began working with Global Bank S.C. as the Director of the Information Technology Department. He has worked in the field for more than 16 years. He is currently the Assistant Chief Information Technology Officer at Global Bank Ethiopia S.C. He has held several roles at Zemen Bank S.C. prior to joining GBE, ranging from senior manager of IT infrastructure to senior infrastructure expert. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science, a Master's in Business Administration, a Master's in Computer Science, and a Diploma in Information Technology. He holds certifications in CCNA, VCP-DCP, ITIL-F3, and COBIT-5.

Before joining GBE, he served at Hijra Bank S.C and Cooperative Bank of Oromia S.C in different capacities such as Director Branch Operation, Director Finance Department, Manager Accounts in Finance, Branch Manager, Customer Service Manager and Accountant positions at Finance Department & Branches for 15 years Since May 2007. Mr. Amsalu has more than 16 years of extensive relevant banking experience in Finance and Branch Operations. Amsalu received BA degree in Accounting and Auditing from Mekele University and earned MBA in Finance from Ambo University and PHD Student in Business Administration in Livingstone International University of Tourism Excellence and Business Management (LIUTEBM University Lusaka, Zambia since September,2023), AA, Ethiopia.

He had 15 years of work experience in the areas of marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, event management, and business development. He joined Global Bank Ethiopia in September 2012 and has serving the Bank in different capacities as a junior Hardware and Network Engineer, Hardware and Network Engineer Officer, Senior Hardware and Network Engineer, Manager Infrastructure division, and Director of the IT Infrastructure Management Department for a total of more than 11 (Eleven) years of professional experience on conceptualizing and driving technical solutions for complex problems with specific domain expertise in the areas of network, security, datacenter, and overall IT infrastructure.

Before joining GBE, he served at Commercial Bank of Ethiopia in different capacities such as Associate Attorney, customer relation Attorney, Credit appraisal and Loan Recovery Attorney, Loan recovery Attorney, Legal Service Manager, Legal, loan workout and Recovery Manager and Legal compliance manager For 13+ years since 2022. Prior to these CBE experiences, Kassahun was served as judge at Oromia courts and member of judges at Labor relation Board. He was a trainer and actively involved in various trainings. Mekdes Bekele Lemma is a banking professional with over 17 years of experience in the industry. She is currently the Director of Digital Banking Department at Global Bank Ethiopia S.C, where she is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of digital banking solutions. Prior to her current role, Mekdes worked as the Director of the International Banking Department, Manager of the Trade Service Division, and Manager of the Remittance & Foreign Exchange Division at Global Bank Ethiopia S.C and various banks including Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Bank of Abyssinia and Addis Bank. In these roles, she gained extensive experience in both domestic and international banking operations. Mekdes holds a Master’s degree in Commerce from Indira Gandhi University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Addis Ababa University College of Commerce. Additionally, she has a Surveying Diploma from Addis Ababa Technical School. Overall, Mekdes Bekele Lemma has a wealth of experience in the banking industry, particularly in the areas of international banking, domestic banking, and digital banking.
